Belarusian surgeons perform remote operation with Chinese colleagues

Belarusian and Chinese surgeons successfully carried out a complex liver resection on a patient in China while the lead surgical team operated remotely from Minsk, BelTA reports.

The procedure was performed using a robotic surgical system and advanced telecommunications technologies across a distance of approximately 6,000 kilometers.

The achievement marks an important milestone in the development of telemedicine and robotic surgery.

In the future, similar technologies could be used to support complex procedures and train medical teams across Belarus, expanding access to advanced healthcare services throughout the country.
